April into May in the Tao
The great fertility festival once again saw the Step 5 Taoist initiates braving the elements - which seemed to have taken the weekend off. Instead of April showers we had days of sunshine and crisp cold nights, beautiful moon and brilliant stars. I must confess I do prefer weather a little more testing for this particular event but my demonic assistants, the Fallen Angels, and I did our best to make up with winding up. Oddly enough the candidates said they'd enjoyed it. There you go - Taoist practice enlivens modern life. The next Step 1 is a Special ‘Yin Only’ Foundations of Taoist Practice Special course for ‘Women Only’ so the only pre-requisite is - being a woman.
12th & 13th May, 10am to 5pm both days
Stress management, Grounding, Flexibility
Mind, body and spirit learn to work together, to be at ease together, to live together. Breathing, structural exercises and meditation turn stress into vitality with Beginner Chi-kung (qigong), Iron-Shirt breathing practices, the Inner Smile, basics of the Microcosmic Orbit (“small heavenly cycle” in the traditional texts) and Six Healing Sounds, all focusing on their applications for the women’s practice.
