PRESS RELEASE Celebrity Detox Star teaches Zen Meditation at the Rosewell Centre this weekend.

The man who taught Rebecca Loos where to put her Jade Egg will be conducting a weekend of Zen Meditation.

If Channel 4’s sensationalised reality show “Extreme Celebrity Detox” left you wondering what meditation has to do with detoxification, Master of the Zen School Kris Deva North (last seen on TV swinging a very heavy weight ‘down there’) shows the real reality: how traditional meditational practices can achieve extraordinary results.

“Altered states of consciousness can uninstall programmes of habit and addiction,” says Kris. “Many people have found increased confidence, motivation, energy, habit-control, how to manage stress and, although I may not know each individual’s problem or situation, I do know we all have the resources to cope. Through these practices I can help you connect with the deeper levels of consciousness to access those resources. No, you don’t need to swing weights to reach an altered state. That is rather more advanced practice.”

Kris, who trained in the Taoist Arts with the Master Mantak Chia and in NLP with Paul McKenna, has practised Healing meditation for over 30 years. In 1993 he co-founded the Zen School of Shiatsu and Healing Tao Centre in London.

Zen: from the Chinese word ch’an, from the Sanskrit dhyan: insightful meditation

Zazen: a seated meditation posture

Zazendo: the Way of Insight Meditation

Zen Insight Meditation combines the Zen tradition, Vipassana experience and Taoist teachings with NLP: powerful techniques for attaining the elusive inner peace and harmony which, in the real world, means habit management and addiction control.

Retreat participants will learn the art of mindful meditation Sitting, Walking: “strolling through life supremely at leisure,” Eating, Reclining and Action: “as intense as if running with your hair on fire,” and the secrets of the Zen Policeman.

Saturday and Sunday 16th and 17th July at the Rosewell Centre, Holywell Road, Castle Bytham, NG33 4SL, just off the A1 between Stamford and Grantham. The weekend costs just £57 which includes overnight accommodation and a light zen-style meal.
